The magnificent Sportsman's Arms Hotel encompasses a mix of the old and new tradition. Located only 500 metres from the town's main street, it is a 5-minute drive from the Nanyuki air strip or two hour journey from Nairobi.

Nanyuki town heralds an intriguing history of the pre and post World War II era. Apart from being a tourist town and a stop-over for travelers heading to the northern frontier, it is a small farming town surrounded by rolling Timau wheat farms to the north, Mt. Kenya to the east and vast plains in the south-west overlooking the Great Rift Valley.

Accommodation

The hotel has a capacity of 125 beds to suit every budget and taste. The new ultra modern wing has 25 lavishly furnished guest rooms and some facing the picturesque Mt.Kenya. All rooms are self contained with hot water and satellite TV.

Additionally there is a choice of new and old cottages with cozy fireplaces and kitchenettes. These original colonial style cottages have been preserved in their pre-independence state. Some of the cottages date back to the 1920's and continue to evoke nostalgic memories to many a visitor.

Restaurants and Bars

Facilities encompass a restaurant and terrace serving international cuisine. A popular feature in the a' la carte and buffet menus is a wide variety of farm-fresh vegetables and fresh fruits. No visit is complete without the true taste of Kenyan barbecued meat, populary know as "Nyama Choma".

For recreation, there is a large outdoor swimming pool and an adjacent toddler pool. To cater for your fitness program there is a health club complete with a well equipped gym, aerobics banda, sauna, steam bath and squash court.
